Governance & Administrative Structure
The Catholic Diocese of Kapsabet
The Vicar General, appointed by the Bishop in accordance with Can. 475 §1, exercises delegated authority in pastoral care, sacramental ministry, and administrative oversight. He supports the Bishop in episcopal functions—such as ordinations, confirmations, and church dedications—and is consulted on matters of major pastoral significance. His collaboration with vicars and curial officials ensures unified governance and pastoral effectiveness.
The Diocesan Curia comprises offices and personnel entrusted with administrative, pastoral, and judicial responsibilities, including the Chancellor, Finance Officer, and Ecclesiastical Tribunal. Together, they facilitate the stewardship of diocesan resources, coordinate pastoral initiatives, and uphold the norms of canon law in service to the mission of Christ.
This structure ensures good governance, ecclesial communion, and faithful execution of the Bishop’s mandate, fostering a healthy and dignified diocesan life.
