ABOUT THE DIOCESE
The Catholic Diocese of Kapsabet, under the pastoral leadership of Rt. Rev. John Kiplimo Arap Lelei, is a Christ-centred ecclesiastical territory committed to evangelization, integral human development, and sacramental life. Erected on 10 July 2025 by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, carved from the Diocese of Eldoret, it serves the faithful across Nandi and parts of Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet counties.
Rooted in the mission of the Church to teach, sanctify, and govern, the Diocese serves the faithful through its parishes, institutions, and pastoral programmes — promoting spiritual growth, social justice, education, healthcare, and care for the marginalised.
VISION
To be an instrument of God's love, peace and reconciliation in society.
MISSION
Committed to evangelization, multicultural cohesiveness, Christian stewardship and integral human development.
Nandi County — homeland of champions, warriors, and people of deep faith — now has its own diocese, shepherded by Bishop Rt. Rev. John Kiplimo Lelei.
